Shropshire Schools & Colleges FA celebrated another hugely successful period in schools football in the county by making two of their key partners Life Members.

Howard & Ann Thorne of Shropshire Homes and Dave and Maureen Pountney of Salopian Sports joined patrons and officials of the SSCFA at a recent lunch at Greenhous Meadow to receive their awards.

Shropshire Homes have championed youth football in Shropshire for many years as former sponsors of the Centre of Excellence at Shrewsbury Town and more recently as sponsors of SSCFA’s prestigious U15 and u18 county cups.

Salopian Sports began their association with SSCFA in 1993 as inaugural sponsors of the girls U16 county cup and witnessed SSCFA winning ten national championships for girls in the following decade.

Bob McGrath, Chairman SSCFA, commented “both Shropshire Homes and Salopian Sports have invested time and money to help improve schools football in Shropshire and we are very grateful for their continued support in helping to maintain the Association’s ambitions for competitive schools football in Shropshire”.
