The SSCFA is delighted to support the Football Association’s RESPECT Programme, launched in August 2008 and aimed at improving standards of behaviour both on the pitch and from the sidelines
The following aspects of the campaign will be of particular relevance to Shropshire schools and colleges

CAPTAINS
Team captains are responsible for assisting the referee in managing the players. In particular, the captain should ensure that his team always respects the decisions of the referee and conducts itself to a high standard. For further information and advice on the captain’s role, please click below.
YOUNG PLAYERS
Schools and colleges are asked to draw the attention of all young players to the FA’s Code of Conduct for Young Players which can be found below.
COACHES
Young players cannot be expected to behave appropriately unless the accompanying adults set a proper example and, to that end, team coaches are also reminded of their responsibilities. Please click below.
PARENTS AND SPECTATORS
must also play their part and have too often been a negative influence in the past. For advice on the role that they can play, please click below.
SPECTATORS’ AREAS
Where possible the SSCFA encourages schools and colleges to operate Spectators’ Areas in order to keep spectators back from the touchlines. Research suggests that this helps to improve behaviour both on and off the pitch. Please click here for further information on Spectators Areas.
