AFC Telford, 15th March 2016

Thomas Adams 1 v 2 Idsall

Shropshire Schools and Colleges Football Association opened its Cup Finals programme at the home Telford United on Tuesday 15th March. The first final saw the U16 Girls from Idsall School take on the girls from Thomas Adams, Wem in a new SSCFA competition sponsored by  Greenhous.

Both teams adapted quickly to the size of the pitch and produced some excellent football. Idsall opened the scoring through Abbie Marton who slotted home with a clean strike from inside the box. Chances were few but on 30 minutes Idsall Captain Teagan Pugh was first to the ball following a corner. The second half saw a resilient comeback from Thomas Adams and on 50 minutes Maisy Millerchip’s strike  hit the post and rebounded into open play but it was the girls from Idsall who went on to become the first champions of the new SSCFA Greenhous Trophy.

The trophy was presented to Idsall Captain Teagan Pugh by Jo Jones PA to Derek Passant - Joint Chief Executive of Greenhous Group Ltd.
