2017/18 Season entries now open

Please find below the official entry form for next season’s Secondary Schools Competitions programme.  Before entering, however, you are asked to read carefully the notes which follow.

Before entering either boys or girls county competitions, all schools are asked to note the following:

  1.  All Entry Forms must be returned to the SSCFA Office no later than Friday 14th July 2017 or we will not be able to accept your entries into next season’s tournaments.  The Draw for all competitions will take place in mid August and will be posted on the SSCFA website.

  2. SSCFA runs over 33 county competitions at primary and secondary levels involving hundreds of teams.  It is impossible for us to ring schools individually to advise them of their individual fixtures at each age level and it is not SSCFA’s responsibility to do so. Each school must be responsible for organizing and arranging its own fixtures and for appointing competent officials.  The SSCFA requires schools who reach the semi-final of competitions, to appoint a fully qualified independent referee with the costs, if any, being shared between both Schools.  The draw, results and up-to-dates fixtures for each round in each competition will be available on the SSCFA website at all times.
  3. Administration for secondary competitions will be done electronically.  Reminders and updates will be sent by e-mail to the nominated teacher in charge of county competitions at each schoolEach school is asked to provide an e-mail contact for the person responsible for cup competitions next season.  When sending in results please ensure you indicate the competition, gender, age group and names of the 2 schools involved.
  4. Deadline dates for each round must be adhered to.  Though unpopular with a small number of schools, the strict adherence to play-by dates in both boys and girls competitions has been popular with the majority of schools as it has kept the tournaments moving to schedule. Matches not played by the deadline date could well be determined by the toss of a coin.
  5. Eligibility for the Presidents Trophy is based on performance in the previous year’s County Cup/Shield competitions.  If your school reached a County Cup/Shield final in 2016/17 season, then you are not eligible to enter the Presidents Trophy competition for that team’s new age group.
  6. The County competition rules for the 2017/18 season will be available to view on the SSCFA website before the end of term.  Please take a few minutes to read through and familiarise yourself with the updated competition rules.

We look forward to receiving your entries for Season 2017-2018 by the closing date of Friday 14th July 2017
