U14 Caleb Roberts Boys County Shield 2016/17

Thomas Telford regain County Shield in style:

Thomas Telford 5 Hadley LC 0

The 2017 Caleb Roberts U14 County Shield was regained by Thomas Telford  when they made up for last years  defeat by Meole Brace when they comfortably beat the lads from Hadley Learning Community. HLC put in a good performance in the  first half chasing down and spoiling  TTS's inter passing game. TTS initially found it difficult to break down HLC 's defense but as half-time approached the stalemate was broken when TTS's Dan Churn netted twice in the space of 5 mins to give TTS  a 2 goal lead at half-time. The second half however was mostly one way traffic with TTS finding more space and possession. Although HLC tried very hard to create goal-scoring opportunities but were unable to repeat their first half work rate and TTS found themselves with more space and time. As a result they created many good chances and their persistance was rewarded when James Allan, Jay Hinks and Jamie Trewarthur all netted to give TTS a comfortable victory, by 5-0 to TTS
